Forte
da Ponta da Bandeira
Built during the 17th Century, this fort retains
its moat and drawbridge, features which many similiar buildings
of the period have already lost. One should note the sturdy
gun carriages, the substantial turrets and the pretty chapel.
This small fort was a fundamental part of Lagos'
defense system together with the Fort at Pinhão whish
was destroyed by the powerful earthquake of 1755.
